Questions
1. “As the tender document does mention that there is a Performance and Payment Bond requirement but does not state the percentage requirements of the bonds. Can you kindly follow up with the owner to confirm the Final Bond requirements for the tender”
A. A 10% Bond is required if the cost of the project is over $100,000.00.
2. I assume that this to be installed in 2023 as it is already the end of August, the tender closes in Sept?
A. Yes, the chiller upgrade equipment is to be installed in 2023.
3. Please clarify: can we submit a price for supply and storage only now. And then provide an install price later. It will be hard to give an accurate price now for cost of material to install and sub contractors rates for next summer? Most suppliers will only hold prices for 30 days and some even less.
A. The bid price is to include the purchase and storage until the installation in the summer of 2023 of the heat exchanger, surge drum, condenser and oil separator as well as the price to install the equipment. The successful bidder will purchase the equipment listed and once the equipment is verified in storage the bidder will be paid for the equipment. Before work commences in 2023 a change order will be negotiated and issued based on any change in material and labour rates between the time of the tender and the commencement of work. The successful bidder will provide their work sheets and the work sheets for any sub-contractors for the original bid showing breakdowns of labour and materials not already purchased and the change in price.
